#breakfreefromplastic March

OTTAWA, CANADA

NO ROOM FOR MORE!

For far too long, fossil fuel companies have viewed plastics as a Plan B for their dying industry. The entire plastics life cycle comes at the expense of human life and our fundamental rights to health and the environment, and our climate — especially for Black, Brown, Indigenous, frontline, and under-resourced communities.

The Global Plastics Treaty has the potential to stop the plastic pollution crisis at the source — but only if governments truly step up and uphold their responsibility to the people, environment, wildlife, and the climate. Ambition needs to be more than just words.

JOIN THE MARCH

The fourth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-4) happening in Ottawa from 23 to 29 April 2024 is a pivotal moment where we can make or break the Global Plastics Treaty. Pressure on the negotiation process is high as we move into the last year of the process and are still far from a Treaty that would truly address the plastics crisis, including the harms that plastic causes to communities across its entire life cycle.

This is why civil society groups from around the world are coming together in a mass mobilization at INC-4 in Ottawa and in different satellite actions in multiple locations globally to center the goals and values of communities most impacted by the plastic lifecycle.

Join us as we march from Parliament Hill to Shaw Center to remind governments who exactly they are negotiating for at the INC.
